Not using C compiler makes me happy

I was looking again at geospatial matters when I had to reinstall PostGIS. Differently from previous time, life was easy: 

stakhanov:~# apt-get install postgresql-8.1-postgis
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
  libgeos-c1 libgeos2c2a postgis proj
